Platform Fee & Payment Policy — Abilr (2025)

🎯 Purpose

This document outlines how Abilr calculates, collects, and distributes platform fees and payments to freelancers, as well as the costs associated with each supported payment method.

1. 💸 Platform Service Fee (Clients)

  • Standard Platform Fee:
    A 6.5% service fee is charged on top of the listed job price.
    • Example: If a service is listed at $1,000 MXN, the client pays $1,065 MXN.
  • Minimum Fee:
    For low-cost services, a minimum fee of $25 MXN applies.
  • Purpose:
    This fee helps cover platform operations, support, fraud protection, and infrastructure.

2. 🧾 Payment Methods

Abilr supports the following payment options for client transactions:

Stripe fees are non-refundable once a transaction is processed. SPEI payments are recommended for bulk or recurring service users.

3. 💼 Technician Payouts

  • Payouts are released only after client confirmation of job completion.
  • If the client does not confirm, the platform will auto-confirm after 48 hours, triggering payout.
  • Technicians are paid 100% of their listed service price, minus applicable payment processing fees (Stripe/SPEI).

Example:

  • Job listed at $1,000 MXN
  • Client pays: $1,065 MXN (6.5% fee)
  • Technician receives: $1,000 MXN
    (from which Stripe or SPEI fees may be deducted depending on client’s payment method)

4. ⏱️ Payout Timeline

5. 🔁 Refunds & Adjustments

  • In case of a verified cancellation or dispute, refunds to clients are processed:
    • Stripe: Within 7–14 business days
    • SPEI: Within 3–7 business days
  • Stripe fees are non-refundable.
  • In case of technician no-show, partial refunds (50%) may apply to clients.
  • In case of client no-show, technicians may receive base compensation (20%).

6. 🔐 Security & Escrow

  • All payments are processed via PCI-compliant gateways (Stripe/STP).
  • Client payments are held in escrow until service completion is confirmed.
  • Abilr does not store full card or bank details directly on its servers.

7. 📌 Exceptions & Policy Violations

  • Attempting to bypass platform fees (e.g., external payment arrangements) is a violation and may lead to:
    • Account suspension or termination
    • Loss of payment eligibility
  • In such cases, no payout or refund will be issued.
